Jessica Wilson is responsible for all training at Bed and Biscuit Austin. She attended Triple Crown Dog Training Academy and is a certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Since the age of 14 she has been heavily involved in the dog world, beginning with rescue and continuing on to other specialties such as grooming and kennel work. Her true passion, however, has always been training.  She has extensive experience with several breeds including Pit Bulls and Rottweilers, and she is experienced in a wide variety of behavior problems and aggression.  She strongly believes that mental exercise
for a dog is every bit as important as physical exercise, and enjoys showing owners how to challenge their dogs in new and exciting ways. Jessica also understands the busy lifestyles that most people have to manage and aims to customize her training programs accordingly.


BASIC TRAINING

30 minute training sessions focused on certain basic commands or tricks can be purchased for $20 per session while your dog is boarding with us or with us for daycare. A minimum of 4 sessions is required for each command or trick. Up to 2 sessions per day can be delivered. We recommend each dog be in the kennel for either boarding or daycare a minimum of 2 days within a 2 week period to deliver the sessions effectively. If you purchase 5 sessions, the 6th is free (6 sessions = $100).

Commands we can work on with dogs in the 30 minute sessions during their stay at Bed and Biscuit include sit, down, stay (sit and down required first), and place (go to a specific place such as a bed, requires sit, down and stay first). Jessica can also work with your dog on specific tricks such as rollover, play dead, shake, “give me five” or other similar tricks.


TRAINING PACKAGES

We are pleased to offer training packages with Jessica at Bed and Biscuit. Packages can be tailored specifically to fit your dog’s needs. They may include a combination of training in the kennel with board-and-train or daycare-and-train and can be combined with some training in your home for optimal results.

Jessica offers free consultations to discuss your dog’s needs and create a program specifically for your dog. Generally, a four week board-and-train program will start at $950. The total cost of the program will vary based on what behaviors and commands you’d like your dog to work on and how advanced the training required will be. Jessica can create programs to target specific behavior problems or tricks, work with your dog on basic obedience or do a combination of both.
